The influencer promo code: simple, but incomplete
A code like AMIRA10 gives the shopper a discount and names the creator who shared it. It is easy to remember, easy to say in a video, and it works even if the shopper orders from another phone two days later.
Its limits are well known:
- Codes travel. Screenshotted, shared in a group or posted on a coupon site, they get used by shoppers the creator never reached.
- Shoppers forget to type them. They saw the story, they order, but without the code: nobody gets the sale.
- They do not measure interest. A code says nothing about clicks, or about which post brought the shopper.
- They cost a discount on every order, on top of the commission.
The tracked link: precise, post by post
A tracked link such as inflow.work/l/amira-reel counts each tap, then opens your store’s product page with the creator’s reference. The order placed on that page is credited to them, with nothing for the shopper to remember. With Inflow, every post can have its own link, so you know which reel or story sold, and every link has a QR code to download for posters or packaging.
Its limit: the shopper who taps, leaves, and comes back to the store directly later. That is what the optional tracking script is for: it remembers the tap for the attribution window (30 days by default).
The right answer: both, with a clear rule
Links and codes do not compete. The link covers people who tap, the code covers people who order later or elsewhere. In Inflow every creator gets both, and the code is created in your store for you. If one shopper used one creator’s link and another creator’s code, a rule decides (the link wins by default, you can change it), and the other creator stays visible in the order’s details.
Every order shows how it was credited, so you can spot a code that “sells” a lot with no clicks at all: usually a code that leaked.
The real question: paying on delivery
With cash on delivery, some orders are never collected: refused at the door, unreachable customer, returned after delivery. Whether the order came from a code or a link, paying commission on the placed order means paying for those parcels too.
Inflow waits for delivery. Commission stays pending until the parcel is delivered, then a short hold (7 days by default) covers late returns. Refused or cancelled: nothing is owed. Returned or exchanged after delivery: the commission is reversed automatically. The creator sees the same statuses you do, which ends the arguments.
To set the amount, see how much to pay an influencer, with a worked example in TND.
Good practice for your codes
- One personal code per creator, never a code shared by several.
- A sensible discount: enough to tempt, not enough to eat the margin.
- An end date or a maximum number of uses for short campaigns.
- The link first in the post, the code as a reminder for people who do not tap.
- Switch a creator’s code off when the collaboration ends. In Inflow, pausing a creator also deactivates their codes in the store.

Influencer promo code questions
Is a promo code enough to track an influencer?
It gives a first idea, but it misses shoppers who forget the code and counts those who found it elsewhere. A tracked link alongside the code gives a far more faithful picture.
Who creates the promo code in my store?
Inflow creates it in your store for you, with the discount you choose (percentage, fixed amount or free delivery). Nothing to type by hand.
What if an influencer’s code has leaked?
Deactivate that code and give the creator a new one. Orders placed with a code and no tap on the creator’s link are a good sign of a leak.
Is commission calculated before or after the discount?
On the base you choose in the commission rule: the product subtotal (with the code’s discount taken off) or the order total.
What if a shopper uses one creator’s link and another’s code?
Only one commission is owed. Your priority rule decides (the link by default), and the other creator stays shown in the order’s details for transparency.
Can I pay commission on delivered orders only?
Yes, that is Inflow’s default. You can also choose shipped or confirmed, but delivered is the recommended setting for cash-on-delivery stores.
Are QR codes tracked like links?
Yes. A link’s QR code opens that link: each scan counts as a click and the order is credited to the same creator.
