Side by side
| What you need | Promo code alone | Tracked link alone | Inflow: link + code |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who sold what | Orders where the shopper typed the code. A leaked code credits the wrong creator; a forgotten code credits no one. | Orders placed after a tap on the link. A shopper who comes back later without the link is missed unless the tap is remembered. | Both. The optional store script remembers a tap for 30 days (default). When a link and a code disagree, your rule decides (link first by default). |
| Pay on delivery | Not built in: your store shows the order, you work out the commission. | Not built in: clicks and orders, no commission. | Commission is earned when the parcel is delivered (the default). |
| Returns | You adjust by hand. | You adjust by hand. | Reversed on their own after a return or exchange. |
| Bank file | No. | No. | Excel or CSV file for a bulk transfer (Growth and Scale). |
| Proof for creators | None, unless you share your store’s reports. | Click counts at best, not orders. | Each order, its status and the commission, in the creator’s portal. |
| Per-post links | No: one code covers every post. | Only if you create a link per post yourself. | One link per post, created by the creator in a few taps. Bio link and code orders count for the latest post. |
| Pause links | Switch the code off in your store. | Depends on the tool. | Pausing a creator switches off their links and codes. A creator who is not paid can pause their links for your brand. |
| Cost | Free in your store, plus the discount on every order. | Free or paid, depending on the tool. | Starter free (3 creators, 100 attributed orders a month), Growth 19 TND/month, Scale 59 TND/month billed yearly (29 and 79 TND billed monthly). Free for creators, no cut of commissions. |
When one of them is enough
- A code alone is enough when the creator mostly talks to camera (live, story without a link sticker) and you pay a flat fee, not a commission.
- A link alone is enough when you want to know which post brings visitors, not who to pay, and the shopper orders right after tapping.
The longer explanation, with good practice for codes, is in the guide influencer promo codes or tracked links.
When you need both, and Inflow
As soon as you pay a commission, you need to catch every sale and pay only the ones that were delivered. In Inflow, every creator gets a link like inflow.work/l/amira-reel and a personal code created in your store for you (percentage, fixed amount or free delivery). Each order shows how it was credited, so a code that “sells” a lot without any taps stands out: usually a code that leaked.
Commission stays pending until delivery and is reversed on returns. See how attribution works.
Codes and links: questions
Which is more accurate, a promo code or a tracked link?
Neither on its own. A link misses shoppers who order later without it; a code misses those who forget it and counts those who found it elsewhere. Together they cover both.
What if a shopper used one creator’s link and another creator’s code?
Only one commission is owed. Your priority rule decides (the link by default), and the other creator stays visible in the order’s details.
Do tracked links work on Instagram reels and TikTok?
Captions there are not clickable, so creators put their bio link in their profile. In Inflow, orders through the bio link or the code count for the creator’s latest post.
Does the shopper see the tracked link?
They tap it and land on your store’s page with the creator’s reference. Nothing to type, no account to create.
Can I give a discount without a code?
A tracked link brings the shopper to your store at your normal price. To give a discount, the creator shares their code, which Inflow creates in your store with the discount you choose.
Are QR codes counted like links?
Yes. Each link has a QR code that opens it: a scan counts as a click and the order is credited to the same creator.
