How the calculator works
- Kept orders = orders placed × (1 − orders not kept). Orders not kept are refused at the door, cancelled or returned.
- Commission is paid on kept orders only: price × rate, or the fixed amount.
- Margin per kept order = price − product cost − delivery − commission.
- Profit = kept orders × margin − delivery on the parcels not kept − flat fee. The product of a refused or returned parcel is assumed to go back to stock.
- Return = profit ÷ what you paid the creator (commission + flat fee).
- Break-even = the number of orders placed whose margin covers the flat fee, refused and returned parcels included.
Why refused and returned parcels change the answer
With cash on delivery, a share of orders never turns into money. Each of those parcels can still cost you the delivery, and if you pay commission on every order placed, a commission too. A campaign that looks profitable on orders placed can lose money on orders kept.
That is why this calculator pays the commission on kept orders only, the way Inflow does by default. To compare the two ways of paying, use the commission calculator.
Flat fee or commission only?
A flat fee is paid whatever happens, so it is what makes a campaign risky: the break-even figure tells you how many orders the creator has to bring before it is covered. Commission only carries no such risk, since you pay only on kept orders. A small fee plus commission is a common middle ground to win over a creator who does not know you yet.

Your real figures in Inflow
The calculator works on estimates. In Inflow, the Costs and ROI view uses your real orders: per campaign and per creator, delivered revenue minus the commission and the flat fee you record (and the cost of free products sent to creators, on Growth and Scale). Product and delivery costs stay in your own accounts; this calculator lets you add them to see profit.

ROI calculator questions
How do you calculate the ROI of an influencer campaign?
Take the profit the campaign made, after product cost, delivery, refused and returned parcels and what you paid the creator, and divide it by what you paid the creator. 100% means every dinar paid to the creator brought one dinar of profit on top.
What is the break-even point?
The number of orders placed through the creator whose margin covers the flat fee. Below it, the campaign loses money; above it, every extra order adds profit.
Why count delivery on refused and returned parcels?
Because the parcel still travelled. Enter only the delivery cost you actually carry: what the carrier charges you, minus any delivery fee the customer pays.
Why is the commission only on kept orders?
Because that is how a cash-on-delivery store should pay: on sales that happened. It is Inflow’s default, with returns after delivery reversed automatically.
What does Inflow show for ROI?
Per campaign and per creator, delivered revenue minus commission, the flat fee you record and the cost of seeded products, from your real orders.
Do you store the numbers I type?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
