Why the choice weighs more with COD

With cash on delivery, the courier is also your cashier. The customer pays cash at the door, the delivery company holds the money, then pays it back to you. In between sit three risks: money that comes back late, refused parcels that cost you a round trip, and order statuses that are not up to date.

The price per parcel matters, of course. But a slightly cheaper company that remits late, or charges a lot for returns, can cost more by the end of the month. If you are new to COD, start with cash on delivery explained.

The six criteria that matter

  1. Real coverage. Every company says it delivers “everywhere”. Ask for the list of areas served, the delay per area, and whether some areas are subcontracted.
  2. COD remittance. How many days between delivery and money in your account? Bank transfer or cash? Daily, weekly, on request? This is your cash flow.
  3. Return fees and attempts. What does a refused parcel cost? How many times does the courier try again? Is the customer called first?
  4. Tracking and API. Clear tracking for the customer, and an API so statuses reach your store on their own, with no retyping.
  5. Converty integration. If your store runs on Converty, a company that is already connected saves you copying orders by hand.
  6. Pickup and support. Pickup at your place or drop-off at a branch, hours, and someone who answers when a parcel is stuck.

A few well-known companies, from their own sites

The market has many companies, large and small. Here are four well-known names, with only what they state themselves. We have not checked their prices or real delays: ask for them in writing.

Test before you commit

Your own test is still the most reliable source. For a month, give part of your orders to a second company and note, for each one:

  • the share of parcels delivered, per governorate;
  • the average time between delivery and money received;
  • the total cost of returns and refusals;
  • the time spent sorting out problems with support.

Compare on the same products and the same cities, or the comparison means nothing. Your return rate also depends on you: confirming orders before shipping changes a lot (see COD order confirmation and reducing COD returns).

The checklist before you sign

  • A written list of areas covered and the delay per area.
  • COD remittance delay, frequency and method (transfer or cash), in writing.
  • Outbound price, return price, fees on refusal, number of attempts included.
  • Any conditions tied to your return rate.
  • Customer tracking, API or Converty integration, and the statuses available (shipped, delivered, returned).
  • Pickup: days, hours, minimum volume.
  • A support contact you can reach, and the response time on a dispute.
  • What happens to a lost or damaged parcel.

Keep every answer in writing (email or message). The day a parcel goes missing or a remittance does not arrive, that document protects you, not a phone call.

The delivery status also decides commission

If you work with influencers, the delivery company affects their pay too. Inflow reads the status of your Converty store’s orders: by default, a creator’s commission is earned when the order turns “delivered”, and reversed if it is returned afterwards. Up-to-date statuses mean creators paid at the right time. Details in commission paid on delivery.

Questions about delivery companies

What is the best delivery company in Tunisia?

There is no single answer: it depends on your cities, volumes and products. Test two companies for a month and compare the delivery rate, the remittance delay and the cost of returns.

How long does it take to receive cash-on-delivery money?

It depends on the company and your contract. Intigo, for example, says money becomes payable the day after the courier hands it over. Always ask for the delay in writing, up to the transfer reaching your account.

Do all companies cover the 24 governorates?

Many say so. Check city by city, especially outside the large cities, and ask whether some areas are handed to a subcontractor.

Should I work with several delivery companies?

One main company and a second one for comparison or for some areas is a simple way to keep a benchmark and a fallback.

Is my delivery company connected to Converty?

Converty connects with many Tunisian companies, among them First Delivery, Intigo and Aramex. The current list is in your Converty account.

Who pays for a refused parcel?

Usually the store, depending on the contract: the outbound fee, sometimes a return fee. Read the return conditions before signing, and follow your refusal rate.

Does Inflow compare delivery companies?

No. Inflow reads the status of your Converty store’s orders to know when a creator’s commission is earned. The choice of carrier stays yours.

Creators paid at the right time

Inflow follows each order’s delivery status and counts commission only once the parcel is delivered. Starter is free.
