How much should you pay an influencer? Flat fees, commission and a TND example

There is no official rate card. There is a way to pay that protects your margin and motivates the creator: commission on sales that were actually delivered, with or without a small flat fee.

Three ways to pay an influencer

Flat fee

One amount for a story, a reel or a bundle of posts, paid whatever happens. The price mostly depends on the creator’s reach and is negotiated case by case. Upside: simple. Risk: you pay the same whether they sell 0 or 100 pieces.

Commission (affiliate)

A percentage of each sale, or a fixed amount per order. The creator earns when you earn. It works best with micro-influencers and creators who want a long-term relationship.

Hybrid

A small flat fee to cover the time spent creating, plus a commission on sales. Often the right compromise to win over a creator who does not know you yet.

Commission on placed or delivered orders?

This is the question that matters with cash on delivery. A placed order can be refused at the door or returned. If commission is owed as soon as the order is placed, you pay it on those parcels too. A realistic month:

Example: a 89 TND product, 10% commission on the subtotal (8.90 TND per order)
This monthOrdersCommission
Orders placed through the creator40356.00 TND if you pay per order placed
Refused at the door or cancelled60 TND
Delivered, then returned30 TND (reversed)
Delivered and kept31275.90 TND

In this example, paying per order placed costs 80.10 TND more, for 9 parcels that brought you nothing. With Inflow, commission is earned on delivery (the default), waits out a hold of 7 days by default, and an order returned after delivery has its commission reversed on its own. Example figures.

Reward the best with tiers

To keep your most effective creators, raise their rate with their results. For example: 10% up to the 20th delivered order of the month, 15% from the 21st. For 31 orders delivered and kept at 89 TND:

  • 20 orders × 8.90 TND = 178.00 TND
  • 11 orders × 13.35 TND = 146.85 TND
  • Total: 324.85 TND for 2,759 TND of delivered revenue

Inflow supports up to 5 tiers, counted each month or since the start. Creators see their tier and how far the next one is. Orders flagged as suspicious do not move a creator up a tier.

How to set the right rate

  1. Start from your margin per delivered order, after delivery and product cost. Commission should stay a fraction of it.
  2. Pick a percentage or a fixed amount. A percentage follows the basket; a fixed amount is easier for the creator to read (“8 TND per delivered order”).
  3. Pick the base: the product subtotal (code discount taken off) or the order total.
  4. Adjust per creator, campaign or product when a product’s margin is very different.
  5. Measure the return. Inflow shows, per campaign, delivered revenue minus commission and any flat fee you record.

Pay without losing an evening

When a creator requests a payout, you approve it, pay by bank transfer to the IBAN they saved, and mark it paid; the creator confirms receipt. On Growth and Scale, you download one file (Excel or CSV) with each beneficiary, IBAN and amount, ready for a bulk transfer. The money never passes through Inflow, which takes no cut of commissions. Questions about paying influencers

What commission percentage should I give an influencer?

There is no universal rate: start from your margin per delivered order. Many brands start modest and add tiers to reward the creators who deliver the most.

Is a flat fee or a commission better?

A flat fee pays for visibility, a commission pays for sales. For a store that wants to sell, commission (possibly with a small flat fee) aligns both sides.

Do I owe commission if the parcel is refused?

With Inflow, no: a refused or cancelled order earns the creator nothing. They see it in their portal, with each order’s status.

When should I pay the creator?

After delivery and a short hold (7 days by default) for late returns. An approved payout is due within 7 days, and late payments are visible on both sides.

Can I pay a fixed amount per order instead of a percentage?

Yes. Every commission rule is either a percentage or a fixed amount, as a store default and then per creator, campaign or product.

How do I record a flat fee paid to a creator?

You can enter a flat fee on a campaign. It is subtracted in the campaign’s return figure, next to the commissions.

Does Inflow take a share of the commission?

No. Brands pay a subscription, monthly or yearly, Starter is free, and creators never pay.
